Short Stories.

Nice to see that books of short stories are now appearing in numbers in publishers' lists. Deeply funny and entetaintaining is Helen Simpson's new collection 'Constitutional'. Nine really excellent stories that should inspire any writer.

I have just read two of David Mitchell's books, namely Cloud Atlas and Ghostwritten. These are both collections of short stories, but they are all linked in some way. Sometimes by a character, an event or a piece of music - or something even more subtle. But in the end, they are just a collection of short stories. I am sure they aren't to everyone's taste, but they are certainly worth a look.

If I find time when I get back from skiing, I'll do a proper review.
